There are only a few 5 star hotels in Kuching. Pullman Kuching is one of those luxurious 5 star hotels. Pullman is not a tourist hotel, it is big, modern, and very luxurious. The lobby is often filled with businessmen that meet up for drinks in the open lounge bar. Though it is not a real tourist hotel, tourists will like the hotel because of its great location near all major attractions in Kuching. It is only a 5 minute walk to the Waterfront. Below the hotel there is a small shopping mall. There are more malls within a few hundred meters of the hotel. Right next to the hotel there is the very popular seafood court, TopSpot. Here you can enjoy all kinds of seafood; freshly prepared while you wait.
We found Pullman Kuching absolutely amazing. Rooms were spacious and we loved the way the rooms are designed. There is a huge bathroom, an office desk, a flat screen television and a mini bar. Views from the room were spectacular; we stayed at the 18th floor with panoramic views over the city. We did have some trouble to use the room/elevator pass, in the beginning the pass didn’t work that well and as a result we were standing in the hallway trying to get in our rooms for over 10 minutes. We later heard that you could get this fixed at the reception, we did so and the problems were of the past.
Pullman Kuching has a fantastic breakfast buffet at Puzzle, the hotel’s all-day dining restaurant. Their breakfast buffet has a lot of variety; we especially loved their fresh breads. There was even Kek Lapis; traditional Layer Cake that is very popular in Kuching. The gym and swimming pool are located on the second floor; here you can also enjoy a drink at the ‘Liquid’ pool bar.
If you are staying in Kuching, make sure you stay at Pullman Kuching, there aren’t many luxurious hotels where you can stay at such an affordable price.

I stayed here recently for one night during a business trip to Kuching. I was positively amazed by the great ambiance and wonderful rooms. Location was perfect, right next to a local food court on the roof of a building. Chose this hotel because of what I read about it here and at Tripadvisor. I highly recommend the hotel.
